Buggy or pushchair cover?

A buggy cover is cut shorter and narrower. If you have a full-size pushchair or a 2-in-1 pram, the standard pushchair or 2-in-1 covers will fit better — those are listed separately.

Check the fit over your hood at full extension before you need it in the rain, not during it.

Using it safely

Take it off as soon as you get indoors or into the car. A raincover restricts airflow and traps heat fast — a child under one in a warm shop can overheat within minutes.

This is the commonest raincover mistake, and it happens because you forget it is on. Make removing it part of arriving.

Never use a raincover for shade. It has the opposite effect — use a parasol, which shades without trapping air.

Check the ventilation panels are not folded over, and that the cover is not resting against your child's face.

Care

Wipe clean and dry fully before folding. A damp raincover folded into the basket will smell within days and eventually go mouldy.

Storage

Folds small enough to live in the basket permanently, which is where it should be. A raincover at home is no use.
