A reversible scarf in baby suri alpaca, made in Peru. Two complementary shades, one on each side, finished with frayed edges.
What baby suri means
Two things worth separating. Baby refers to the fineness of the fibre, not the age of the animal — it is the finest grade, taken from the softest part of the fleece.
Suri is one of the two alpaca types. Suri fleece grows in long silky locks rather than the crimped fleece of a huacaya, which is why it drapes and has a subtle sheen rather than a matte, woolly look.
Together they make the softest alpaca available.
Reversible, which is genuinely useful
Two colours in one scarf. Fold it one way for one shade, turn it for the other — so it works with more of your wardrobe than a single-colour scarf at the same price.
Why alpaca rather than wool
Warmer than sheep's wool for the same weight, because the hollow fibre traps more air. And no lanolin, which is what most people react to in wool.

Care
Dry clean, or hand wash in cool water. Lay flat to dry — a wet alpaca scarf hung up will stretch permanently.
