A brushed alpaca scarf with a subtle plaid pattern, in undyed natural shades. Finished with twisted fringes.
What undyed means
The colours here are the alpaca's own — greys, browns, natural cream and white, straight from the fleece with no dye applied.
That matters for two reasons. Undyed fibre keeps more of its natural softness, because dyeing is a chemical process that stiffens fibres slightly. And the shades are subtler than dyed equivalents, which is why they sit well against almost anything.
Why alpaca rather than wool
Alpaca is warmer than sheep's wool for the same weight, because the fibre is hollow and traps more air. It also has no lanolin, which is the compound most people react to in wool — so if wool makes you itch, alpaca generally will not.
The brushed finish raises the surface fibres, which is what gives it the softness you notice immediately.
Warm without bulk
The practical advantage. This is warm enough for a cold morning without the volume of a chunky knit scarf, so it works under a coat collar rather than fighting it.

Care
Dry clean, or hand wash in cool water. Lay flat to dry — never hang a wet alpaca scarf, it will stretch and not recover.
