Same size as a cot bed

Worth knowing: 140 x 70cm is the standard junior bed size and the standard cot bed size. If you have a cot bed that converts into a toddler bed, these sheets fit both configurations — so they carry on being useful through the transition rather than being replaced.

The move to a toddler bed

Most children move somewhere between 18 months and three years — usually prompted by climbing out of the cot rather than by age. There is no rush; a cot is safer for as long as they are content in it.

When you do move them, a pillow and duvet become appropriate. Those are not safe for under-12-months, but from around 18 months they are fine.

Why 100% cotton

Breathable, which matters for temperature regulation, and it softens with washing rather than pilling. These get washed a great deal — toddler bed years overlap with potty training.

Why two is the minimum

One on, one in the wash. A pack of four is available, and is the sensible buy during potty training.
