Mock neck or roll neck?
A mock neck is a short standing collar that does not fold over. It gives the neckline of a roll neck without the fabric against your throat, which suits anyone who finds roll necks constricting.
It also stays neat under a blazer where a folded roll neck can sit awkwardly.
The rib is what makes it
Ribbed fabric has vertical stretch built into the structure, so it holds shape against the body without needing to be tight. With 6% elastane it recovers rather than bagging at the elbows.
