Himalayan Yak Dog Chew – Long Lasting Natural Milk Chew, Small to King

A hard-pressed chew made from Himalayan cow milk, based on a method Nepalese and Tibetan communities have used for generations to turn milk into a hard, storable cheese. It is smoke-dried and pressed until rock hard, which is what makes it last.

There are no binding agents, grains or preservatives — the composition is 99.8% milk with a trace of lime juice and salt.

How long it lasts

Most dogs work through a chew over several sessions rather than one sitting. A determined chewer will get through a medium in a few hours of active chewing; a gentler dog can make one last a fortnight. It softens as saliva works into it, so the dog scrapes off small amounts rather than breaking pieces away.

Choosing a size

• Small 30–40g — puppies and toy breeds
• Medium 60–75g — small to medium dogs
• Large 100–110g — medium to large breeds
• Extra Large 155–175g — large breeds and strong chewers
• King 200–210g — giant breeds

Size up rather than down. A chew small enough to fit fully in the mouth is a choking risk.

The end piece

When the chew is worn down to a stub, microwave it for 30–60 seconds. It puffs up into a crisp, airy treat that is soft enough to eat safely, so nothing is wasted.

Himalayan cow milk (99.8%), lime juice (0.1%), salt (0.1%).

Analytical constituents per 100g: protein 62.4%, moisture 8%, crude oils and fats 18%, lactose 0.5%. Energy 386 kcal.

Feeding and safety

A complementary pet food, not a complete diet. Always supervise your dog while chewing and provide fresh drinking water. Remove and discard any piece small enough to swallow whole. Hard chews carry a risk of tooth damage in dogs that bite down aggressively — if your dog is a heavy cruncher rather than a scraper, speak to your vet first. Not suitable for dogs with a dairy intolerance.
