Stepup i-Size Belted High-Back Booster – Midnight Black, 4-12 Years
FYLO-STP-MB
151 In Stock Out of stock 151
A high-back booster fitted with the car's own seat belt — no ISOFIX required, so it works in any car and moves between them in seconds.
Who this suits
Grandparents' cars, taxis, holiday hire cars, and any household swapping a seat between vehicles. It is also the option if your car has no ISOFIX anchor points, which many older vehicles don't.
The ISOFIX version at £49.99 clips to anchor points so the seat stays put when your child isn't in it. This one needs positioning each time, but goes anywhere.
How a booster works
A booster has no harness. It raises your child so the adult seat belt sits correctly — lap belt low across the hips, diagonal across the collarbone and chest.
On an unboosted child that belt rides onto the soft abdomen and across the neck, which causes exactly the injuries a booster exists to prevent.
Why a high-back rather than a cushion
The back gives side impact protection for head and torso and guides the diagonal belt to the right height. Backless cushions do neither, and UK law only approves them above 125cm and 22kg.
Features
- Approved to UN R129 (i-Size)
- Adjustable headrest that raises as your child grows
- Side impact protection
- Belt guides for correct diagonal routing
- Fits any car with a three-point seat belt
Important safety information
Read the manual before fitting. Because this seat is not anchored, check the belt routing every single journey — diagonal across the collarbone never the neck, lap section low across the hips not the stomach.
An unoccupied belted booster is loose in the car. Secure it with the seat belt or remove it, because an unrestrained booster becomes a projectile in a collision.
UK law requires a booster until 135cm or 12 years, whichever comes first.
Replace after any collision, however minor. Never use a second-hand seat with unknown history.
Free fitting checks are available at many UK fire stations and retailers.
