Read this first: where it can legally be ridden
Privately owned electric scooters cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in public parks in the UK. This is not a grey area. It applies to adults and children alike, and it applies to this scooter.
They may only be used on private land with the landowner's permission. A private garden or driveway is fine. The pavement outside your house is not, and neither is your local park.
Please be certain you have somewhere legal to use it before buying. This is the single most common reason electric scooters are returned or sit unused in garages.
What it is
A 120W electric scooter for children aged 6 and over, with a top speed of 8km/h, roughly a fast jog, which is appropriate for the age.
- Easy-start mechanism
- Rear fender brake
- Adjustable handlebars that grow with your child
- Battery level display
Safety
A correctly fitted helmet meeting EN 1078 should be worn every time. Knee and elbow pads are strongly advised while your child is learning, most falls in the first weeks are onto hands and knees.
Adult supervision at all times. Check the brake works before every ride, and check the folding mechanism and stem clamp are locked.
Not for use in wet conditions: braking distance increases significantly on wet ground and the electrics are not designed for it.
Charging
Charge on a hard surface away from anything flammable, and never overnight or unattended. Use only the supplied charger. Stop using the scooter immediately if the battery swells, smells or gets unusually hot.
Check the standard
Confirm the product carries a UKCA or CE mark before use. Verify it on the product itself.
