Hooded blankets and ponchos

A hooded blanket is a wearable blanket cut like a very large hoodie, so you stay covered while your hands are free.

Adult oversized hoodies: the men's hooded blanket sweatshirt and the dog print hooded blanket have a plush flannel fleece outer and a sherpa lining in 100% polyester. The dog print style is reversible and based on a 6XL hoodie, so one size fits most adults.
Poncho blankets: the women's plush poncho has a contrasting fur hood and is based on a 6XL hoodie. The navy and charcoal poncho measures 130 cm wide by 120 cm long.
Kids' hooded blankets: the reversible sherpa style fits most children aged 8 to 15 and measures about 80 cm long. The dog print sweatshirt version has elastic cuffs and a double-opening front pocket.
Infant hoodie blanket: a unisex safari sloth design for ages 0 to 2, in soft polyester blends with a roomy pocket.

Choosing a throw size

127 x 152 cm to 130 x 170 cm: for a lap, an armchair or the arm of a sofa. This covers the chenille tassel throw, the Mia Bohemian throw, the picnic blanket and the smallest sizes of the handwoven cotton, Casablanca and flannel fleece throws.
150 x 200 cm to 180 x 250 cm: enough to cover a sofa seat or the end of a bed. The faux fur throws start at 150 x 200 cm, the handwoven cotton throws have a middle size of 178 x 254 cm, and the Florian checked cotton throws are 180 x 250 cm, which the supplier says can also be used as a bedspread.
200 x 240 cm to 228 x 254 cm: the largest sizes, for laying over a bed. These come in the flannel fleece, faux fur and handwoven cotton throws.

Measure the sofa or bed you want to cover and allow for some overhang before you choose a size.

Throw fabrics

Cotton: the Lisbon honeycomb, striped and large check throws are 100% cotton, handwoven in India according to the supplier. The Florian range is 100% cotton, and the Casablanca check is 100% recycled cotton and described as lightweight.
Chenille: a tasselled throw described by the supplier as suitable for year-round use.
Flannel fleece: a lightweight microfibre throw in plain colours.
Faux fur: the Snuggle and Cuddle chunky faux fur fleece and the mink faux fur throw with a velvet touch finish are both polyester blends.

The Snuggle and Cuddle and Mia Bohemian throws offer a matching cushion cover as a separate option. For outdoors, the check stripe picnic blanket is cotton woven with recycled fibres and folds down for carrying.

Care and safety

Most of the throws are machine washable, and the Florian cotton throws should be washed at low temperatures. Follow the care label on each item. Fleece, sherpa and faux fur can catch fire, so keep all hooded blankets away from open fires, candles, heaters and hobs. This matters most with children's hooded blankets: keep them away from fire and remind children not to stand close to a heater or fireplace while wearing one. Hooded blankets and loose throws are not for a baby to sleep in or under.
