Trunks or loose-fit boxers?

Fitted boxer trunks stay in place under school trousers and PE kit, and most boys find them easy to get on and off. Loose-fit woven boxers have a relaxed leg and a softer, roomier feel, which some boys prefer for sleeping and at home. Printed packs with football, army or gamer designs, or a different day of the week on each waistband, make getting dressed easier for younger children.

Fabrics

Most trunks here are 95% cotton and 5% elastane, which is soft and breathable with enough stretch to hold their shape. One pack uses 95% organic cotton with 5% elastane. The woven loose-fit boxers are a 65% polyester and 35% cotton mix, which is light and keeps its shape.

Sizing by age and waist

Sizes are listed by age, and several packs also give a waist measurement for each size. For example, one pack lists 5 to 6 years as a 23 to 24 inch waist and 13 years as a 28 to 29 inch waist. Measure round your son's natural waist and compare it with the chart on the product page. If he is tall for his age or between sizes, go up a size.

Washing multipacks

The packs here wash at 40°C, and most can be tumble dried. Wash dark colours separately, especially for the first few washes, and keep assorted packs together so all the pairs wear at the same rate.
