Why a different cover

A carrycot is deeper and longer than a pushchair seat, so a standard pushchair raincover will not sit properly over it. This one is cut for that shape.

If your pram converts, you may need both — this for the carrycot months, a standard pushchair cover once you switch to the seat unit.

Using it safely

Remove it as soon as you are indoors or in the car. A raincover restricts airflow and traps heat within minutes, and it matters more over a carrycot where a small baby is lying flat and cannot move away from the warmth.

Never use a raincover for shade. Use a parasol, which blocks sun without trapping air.

Check the ventilation panels are clear and not folded over, and that the cover is not touching your baby's face.

Care

Wipe clean and dry fully before folding. A damp cover folded away will smell within days.

Storage

Keep it in the pram basket rather than at home, which is the only place it is any use.
