Why a footmuff instead of a coat

A child should never be strapped into a car seat wearing a thick coat. Padding compresses in a collision, leaving the harness loose at exactly the wrong moment — often several centimetres of slack that weren't there when you buckled up.

A footmuff avoids that. The harness passes through the slots and sits against the child, with the insulation outside the harness where it can't create slack.

Fitting it correctly

1. Thread the harness through the footmuff slots before putting your child in
2. Buckle against your child's body, not over the footmuff
3. No more than two fingers of slack between harness and collarbone
4. Lay the top layer over once they're secured

Nothing should sit behind your child's back or under the harness.

Fit and care

Universal, for standard infant car seats with 3 or 5 point harnesses. Check the slot positions line up with your seat before first use. Machine washable.

Safety

Only use with the harness passing through the designated slots. Check the slots for wear when washing.
