A parasol that clamps to a pram, pushchair or buggy frame, with an adjustable arm.
Why a parasol rather than a cover
This is the important part. Never drape a blanket, muslin or cover over a pram to shade a baby.
Covering a pram traps heat. The temperature inside climbs sharply within minutes even on a mild day, because the cover stops air circulating — and you cannot see your baby to notice.
A parasol blocks direct sun while leaving the pram completely open to airflow. That is the whole point, and it is the only safe way to shade a pram.
Standard or premium?
The premium version has a longer, more flexible arm and a firmer clamp. Both do the same job; the premium is easier to re-angle repeatedly and holds position better on a bumpy pavement.
Fitting
Clamps to most round and oval frame tubes. Check the clamp is tight before each outing, and that the parasol cannot swing into your child's face.
Also do this
A parasol is one part of keeping a baby cool. Dress them lightly, offer extra feeds in hot weather, avoid direct sun between 11am and 3pm, and check temperature by feeling the back of the neck rather than their hands.
Babies under six months should be kept out of direct sunlight altogether.
Storage
Folds to go in the pram basket. Worth leaving there from May rather than remembering it.
