Twelve pairs of black work socks built for boots and long days on site. The cushioning runs across the whole footbed rather than just under the heel, which is what stops the ache setting in by mid-afternoon, and the toe and heel are reinforced at the two points boot socks usually give out first.
An in-turned welt at the top stops them sliding down inside a boot. It is a small detail and the main thing separating a proper work sock from a thick everyday one.
