Using a roof rack safely

Follow the fitting instructions, check that every strap is tight before each drive and again on longer trips, and do not exceed your vehicle's roof load limit as stated in its handbook.

Place boards fin side up and nose forward, and check the rack and straps have not shifted after the first few miles. Remove the rack when it is not in use and store it in the bag. A soft rack is designed for occasional trips to the beach rather than permanent fitting.
