A lightweight booster seat that straps onto a normal dining chair, bringing your child up to table height. Suitable from 6 months to around 3 years, up to 25kg.
What it's for
Eating at the table without a full-size highchair. It folds flat, so it goes to grandparents' houses, restaurants, holidays and anywhere a highchair isn't available.
For a small kitchen it's also a reasonable everyday alternative to a highchair — it takes up no floor space when not in use.
From 6 months, and only when they can sit up
The age is a guide, not the test. Your baby should be able to sit upright unsupported and hold their head steady before using any booster seat. Most babies reach that around 6 months, but some take longer, and there is no benefit in starting early.
If they slump to one side or need propping, they are not ready yet.
Using it safely
- Always use the harness, every single time, even for a quick snack. A child can stand up in a booster seat in seconds.
- Strap it firmly to the chair — both the seat strap and the back strap. Check the straps before every use, as they work loose.
- Use a sturdy chair with a flat seat. Not a stool, not a folding chair, not anything on wheels or that can tip.
- Position it away from the table edge, walls and worktops. A child pushing off a hard surface with their feet can tip the whole chair backwards.
- Never leave your child unattended in the seat, and never let older children climb on it.
Important
Do not use this as a car seat, a floor seat or a bath seat. It is a feeding booster and nothing else.
Check that the product carries the BS EN 16120 mark — the British and European standard for chair-mounted seats — before using it. Verify it on the product itself rather than taking a listing's word for it.
Stop using it once your child exceeds 25kg, or sooner if they can undo the harness or climb out.
Care
Wipe clean after every meal. Check the straps and buckle for fraying or cracking periodically, and stop using it if either shows wear.
