Stair Gate Extension 14cm – White, Widens Pressure Fit Gates

A 14cm extension panel that widens a pressure-fit stair gate to fit a larger opening.

This is the extension only. The gate is not included.

Working out what you need

Measure the narrowest point of your opening at the height the gate will sit.

• 77-86cm — no extension needed
• 86-93cm — one 7cm extension
• 93-100cm — one 14cm extension (this one)
• 100-107cm — one 7cm and one 14cm
• 107-114cm — two 14cm extensions

Buy the gate bundled with the right extensions if you are starting from scratch — the gate listings include the extension in the selected size. This standalone panel is for adding to a gate you already own, or moving a gate to a wider opening.

Fitting

Attaches between the gate frame and the pressure pad on one side. Once fitted, re-tighten all four pressure pads evenly and test the gate by pushing hard from both sides.

Re-check the tension weekly. An extended gate has more span and works loose faster than an unextended one.

Important

Extensions must be the correct type for your gate. An extension from a different manufacturer will not fit and should not be forced.

Remember that a pressure-fit gate, extended or not, must never be used at the top of stairs. Use a screw-fit gate there.
