What 3-in-1 means
- Carrycot — lie-flat, from birth. Newborns need to lie flat; a semi-upright seat restricts a small baby's airway over time.
- Pushchair seat — from around 6 months, once they sit supported.
- Infant car seat — clicks onto the chassis, so a sleeping baby moves from car to pram without waking.
The two-hour rule
Infant carriers hold a baby semi-upright, and guidance is to limit continuous time to around two hours. The car seat on the chassis is for the walk from car to cafe, not a whole afternoon out — use the carrycot for that.
Car seat fitting
This bundle includes the car seat but not an ISOFIX base — the seat is belt-fitted. A version with the base is available at £219.99, and a base makes fitting faster and much harder to get wrong.
Never fit a rear-facing infant carrier in a front seat with an active airbag.
A note on light colours
Dune beige looks excellent and shows everything. Prams live outdoors, get muddy wheels folded into boots, and carry children who eat in them. Check the fabric is removable and washable before you commit to a pale colour — most people who regret a pram colour regret a light one.
Safety
Always use the harness in every mode. Engage the brake whenever stationary. Do not hang heavy bags from the handle — the commonest cause of prams tipping backwards. Check each component is fully clicked onto the chassis by lifting it before you set off.
