Choosing fins

A single fin with side bites, often called a 2+1 set-up, needs a centre box and two side boxes. Check your board has all three, match the twin-tab or single-tab side bite base to your side boxes, and check that your centre box takes a fin with a 160mm base. Deflow suggests this set for surfers who like the traditional feel of a single fin but want more stability and control, including on retro-style boards.
