Deflow Erwin Bliss Front Traction Pad, 3-Piece with Centre Arch

The Deflow Erwin Bliss Front Pad is a three-piece traction pad for the front foot, made with surfer Erwin Bliss and part of the Deflow Pro Tech Collection. It has a large central arch, which Deflow added to give extra traction on airs, an unusual feature on a front pad.

Choosing traction

Front pads and arch bars give grip for the front foot, while tail pads do the same for the back foot. Some surfers use a front pad in place of wax over the area where the front foot lands, and the central arch gives the foot a reference point when you pop up. Remove all wax and clean the deck before fitting, and position the pieces with the board dry. Stand on the board on land first to find where your front foot sits naturally, then mark that spot before you peel the backing.
