Choosing a beach towel

For surfing, a larger towel is easier to wrap around yourself while you change out of a wetsuit on the beach or in the car park, and gives more room to sit on the sand. At 100 x 170cm this towel is longer and wider than a typical bath towel. Terry towelling has looped fibres on the surface that absorb water, and a heavier towel such as this 450g one generally feels thicker and takes longer to dry. Shake out sand and dry the towel fully between uses.
