Measure the mattress rather than trusting the cot's name. All three sizes are sold separately.

Why jersey rather than woven cotton

Jersey is knitted rather than woven, so it stretches. That gives a tighter, smoother fit with no wrinkling — useful on a cot bed, which is a larger surface where a woven sheet is more likely to rumple.

It's also softer against the skin and doesn't need ironing, which nobody was going to do anyway.

Why it must fit snugly

Lullaby Trust guidance is a firm, flat mattress with a well-fitting sheet and nothing else in the cot for babies under 12 months. A loose sheet can work free and bunch, which is a suffocation risk. Check it's taut each time you make the bed and replace any sheet whose elastic has slackened.

Why a pack of two

One on, one in the wash — the minimum. A pack of four is available if you'd rather not be doing laundry at 3am.

Care

Machine washable. Wash before first use. Jersey may shrink slightly on the first wash, which usually improves the fit.
