Eight cotton bandana-style dribble bibs with adjustable snap fastenings.

Bandana bibs versus feeding bibs

Different jobs. A feeding bib is a waterproof shield worn for twenty minutes at mealtimes. A bandana bib is worn all day to catch dribble — which, once teething starts, is more or less constant.

Teething dribble causes the sore red rash around the chin and neck that most babies get somewhere between four and twelve months. Keeping the skin dry is the only thing that genuinely helps, which means changing the bib the moment it is damp rather than leaving a wet one against the skin.

That is why eight is the right number. You will get through three or four on a heavy teething day.

Why bandana shape

The triangular cut sits flat under the chin and looks like part of the outfit rather than a bib, which matters more as babies get older and start pulling at anything resembling equipment.

Adjustable snaps

Two snap positions, so the bib grows with the baby rather than being outgrown in a month. Snug enough not to be pulled off, loose enough to fit a finger underneath.

Care

Machine washable. Wash before first use. Cotton softens rather than pilling, which is why these hold up to constant washing.

Safety

Remove bibs before sleep. Never leave a baby unattended in a bib, and check the snaps are secure before each use.
